FABAL was established in 1982 by Chris Day, Peter Kerin and Dim Georgiadis.  In 1994 FABAL commenced the development and management of viticulture projects in the cool climate regions of Australia.

In 2008 FABAL introduced horticulture to their business scheme and developed a 43 hectare cherry orchard in the Huon Valley, Tasmania.

FABAL has also been appointed as the responsible entity for more than 990 hectares of avocado, citrus and mango orchards at Childers in Queensland.

FABAL develops and manages infrastructure involving agribusiness operations.

This has included becoming a 50% partner in Marathon Water Pty Ltd which, in partnership with another grape producer in Langhorne Creek, provides irrigation water to a number of growers in the Langhorne Creek region accessed 42 km away directly from the River Murray.
