Clare Valley Vineyards

clareautumnThe Clare Valley is situated some 120km to the north of Adelaide in the mid-north of South Australia. Viticulture has been established in the Clare Valley for over 150 years and has experienced steady growth over the past 10 to 15 years. The growth has been constrained only by the lack of natural water resources. This has been eased by the Clare Valley Water Supply Scheme, bringing additional water from the River Murray through the existing SA Water infrastructure.

The Clare Valley is primarily known for its high quality Riesling and Shiraz. A significant proportion of the Valley is situated more than 350 metres above sea level. This elevation is important in producing high quality Rieslings as well as red table wines that are often more delicate in style than the Barossa red table wines.

THE WILLIAMS VINEYARD

auburn

The Williams vineyard in the Clare Valley is part of National Viticultural Fund of Australia Project No 2 along with a vineyard in the Barossa Valley. The development of these vineyards has been underpinned by a secure long term grape supply contract with Orlando Wines (a division of Pernod Ricard Pacific Pty Ltd), one of Australia's major wine producers.

The Property

The property is located approximately 7kms south west of Watervale and 6km west of Auburn. The property is planted with approximately 67 hectares of Riesling, Shiraz and Merlot. The reputation of Riesling in the region and its requirement by the purchaser, Orlando Wines will ensure the vineyard's success.
