Coonawarra Vineyards

coontreeCoonawarra is extremely well known throughout Australia and the world for its elegant yet richly flavoured Cabernet Sauvignon. It's famous narrow strip of terra rossa soil is merely 20km long and 1.5km wide. This soil consists of red clay-loam overlaying well draining limestone and a high water table produces exceptional grape development and characters.

THE CHAPEL VINEYARD

Our property in the Coonawarra was purchased by Challenger Wine Trust and leased to The National Viticultural Fund of Australia in December 2002, comprising of 29 hectares of premium Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard has been established to a high standard and is relatively uniform across the property. The property is bordered to the east by stands of majestic stately gums.
